Neighbourhood Guide

Olympic Village

West Side, Vancouver

What started as housing for the 2010 Olympic athletes has blossomed to one of the most coveted areas in Vancouver.

A modern seaside sanctuary with Olympic roots.

Technically part of False Creek, the former housing for the 2010 Winter Olympians has rapidly transformed into an enclave of luxury condos with pristine water & city views.

As The Birds keep watch over the community, you’ll feel how vibrant the neighbourhood is with people buzzing along the seawall, chattering on the patios and relaxing in the village square. The dynamic, yet calm energy of the community makes for a great place to live.

On The Map

Olympic Village is located on the edge of False Creek and bordered by Mount Pleasant East and Mount Pleasant West.

Instant access to the seawall is the big perk in the neighbourhod.

At any given time you'll see people biking, running, rollerblading or walking their dog around the seawall.

Hinge Park is just to the west and has ample green space to loung in the summer.  There’s also a beautiful community garden and a fenced in off-leash dog park so that your furry friends can let loose and have some fun. Activities in Olympic Village are not limited to just land.  The Creekside Paddling Centre is right on the doorstep and is home to The Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society. This floating facility serves the huge demand for public padding programs in False Creek by providing instruction, boats and equipment for public use, and hosting paddling competitions – including North America’s largest Dragon Boat Festival.

Creekside Community Centre is a state-of-the-art centre on the edge of False Creek.

The full service centre includes several programs and child care, along with a full size gym, aerobics studio, dance and yoga studios, fitness centre & games room.

The BMO Theatre Centre is the cultural hub in the community with several plays and performances throughout the year.

Transit is a breeze. With both the Skytrain station and Canada Line transit station within walking distance, getting around the city is a breeze.  Locals can access downtown, the waterfront, Metrotown or Vancouver International Airport with ease.. Looking to jump across the pond? The Aquabus ferry (a super cute and colourful mini tugboats) jumps between 8 locations in False Creek and can land you in awesome locations like Granville Island Market and Marinaside in Yaletown.

From pubs to patios, you've got it all right here.

You'll find everything from super cool pubs, trendy eateries and staples like groceries and a big box pharmacy right at your doorstep.

That’s probably one of the greatest perks of living in Olympic Village.  Everything is litterally at your doorstep. You want big box brand names for some heavy duty shopping?  Sure – London Drugs & MEC. Craving a pint on the patio?  Ok – Craft, Tap & Barrel and Brewhall. Grabbing a bite? The Flying Pig, Nook and Tractor. It’s just a small sample size of what’s on tap in the village.  Simply awesome for a micro community.
