Marpole​

West Side, Vancouver

One of Vancouver’s oldest communities, Marpole is dotted with green space throughout and it’s easy accessible to the Granville corridore for shopping & dining.

This west side community flanks the southern border of Vancouver and features quaint shops, excellent restaurants, lots of green space, and it’s only a short drive to the downtown core.

The location of this community is ideal for those who need quick access to the Vancouver International Airport, shopping, dining or downtown.  Whether you drive, take the bus or take the Canada Line, you can get anywhere you want in the city within minutes.

Marpole is located on the west side of Vancouver and bordered by Southlands, S.W. Marine, South Granville, South Cambie, South Vancouver and South Marine.

Get Outside

Big parks and pretty pathways pave the way though the community.

Locals have plenty of green space to choose from in Marpole. Take the dog for a walk, play a multitude of sports or relax and take a leisurely stroll along the Fraser River. The choices are endless.

Large parks like Oak Park, 5.25 hectares of space, has tennis courts, a basketball court, sporting fields, picnic area, an outdoor hockey rink and picnic areas. Not to be outdone, Winona Park also hosts a variety of sports like rugby, football & softball. To the south of SW Marine Drive, Fraser River Park is a tranquil waterfront park with beautiful views of the Fraser River. Make sure to go for a stroll along the boardwalks that cross the tidal marshes. It’s also a popular off-leash area for dogs.

The Canada Line, located on the south east corner of the community, is perfect for the daily commute.

The station is located at Marine Gateway and can get you as far south as The Vancouver International Airport, and north to Waterfront Station in Downtown Vancouver.

The Marpole Oakridge Community Centre anchors the neighbourhood and offers residents several programs and events, along with top amenities like a fitness centre, racquet courts, spray park, whirlpool and sauna. The local Marpole Curling Club at Marine and Heather includes six sheets of ice, a cafe & spacious lounge.

Marpole is within close proximity to the University of British Columbia (UBC) and is home to several elementary and secondary schools including David Lloyd George, J.W. Sexmith, Sir Wilfred Laurier and Anthony of Padua Catholic Elementary.  For attending public high school, Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School.

SHOP & DINE

The local shops on Granville mixed with the big box stores on Marine Drive. Marpole has you covered.

Ethnic eateries, including Japanese, Vietnamese, Indian, Chinese and Thai restaurants are dotted along Granville Street from 57th Ave going south.

Server local shops & services flow down Granville and give locals plenty of options. The newly developed Safeway sits just north of 70th Ave and serves as the go-to grocery hub for the community.  Marine Gateway, on Cambie St. and SW Marine Dr., has Winners, T & T Supermarket, Cineplex Cinemas, Fitness World & Shoppers Drug Mart. Additional big box names like Canadian Tire, Best Buy and Sportchek are on the eastern side of the complex.
