Victoria

East Side, Vancouver

Centrally located between Burnaby and Vancouver West, the growing community of Victoria is multicultural with a large with a large Indo-Canadian population.  It’s a great destination for fresh produce, imported goods, and international cuisine.

Victoria area has blossomed into an attractive spot for the trendy younger, middle-class singles and families.

Located in an area with major thoroughfares within minutes, residents can easily move about the city. For those who stick around home, Victoria has a wide range of parks, recreation and shopping in, and near the neihghbourhood.

Victoria is located on the east side of Vancouver and bordered by Knight, Grandview Woodlands, Collingwood and Killarney.

Spend a day wandering through one of the numerous parks scattered in and around this area.

The community boasts some very good parks within its boundaries, but it's also next door to one of the best parks in the city, Trout Lake.

Within the community, Brewers Park is the most amenity-rich green space, boasting a community garden, playground, tennis courts and a basketball court. On its northern edge of the neighbourhood is the beautiful John Hendry Park and Trout Lake.  This park is one of the best in the city with its fresh water lake, running trails, beaches, boating, ball diamonds and off leash dog area.

From elementary to post-secondary, there are plenty of schools to choose from.

The community has access to two incredible community centres that lie just outside the boundaries of the neighbourhood.

The Kensington Community Centre features a fitness centre, a preschool, pottery studios, dance studios, meeting rooms, and a swimming pool. The recently renovated John Hendry Park centre is impressive. The centre features a large fitness centre, an ice rink, pottery and art studios, performing arts, a full-size gym and a pre-school.

Getting around the city is easy for residents.  Major transit runs regularly through the major thoroughfare on Kingsway and West 41st Ave.  On the eastern border is the Nanaimo SkyTrain station that gives commuters an easy want to navigate the city without dealing with traffic.

There are three primary schools including Sir Charles Kingford-Smith, Sir James Douglas, which are both public, and Corpus Christi(which is private) and two secondary schools (Sir Winston Churchill and David Thompson, both public).

41st Avenue & Victoria is the local shopping hub.

There's a stretch of 4 blocks that are lined with stores, coffee shops and restaurants

On the corner of 41st Ave is also a London drugs, Tim Hortons, Starbucks and more. A short drive north to Victoria you’ll see several local markets, like the 88 Super Market. Neighbourhood communities like Champlain Heights and Killarney offer easy access to Victoria residents to larger retails, restaurants and services.
