Downtown East

One of the oldest community in Vancouver, Downtown East is a great blend of Vancouver’s past with a glipse into the future of the neighbourhood.
Travel down the cobblestone road and take in a piece of history.
The community is inclusive of the oldest parts of Gastown along with Chinatown, boasting a ton of history, unique architecture and a diverse population.
On The Map
Just east of the Downtown core lies Vancouver East, which is bordered by Main Street to the east, Carrall Street to the west and the Burrard Inlet to the north
Get Outside
From the seawall to soccer fields, you have plenty of outdoor activities to choose from.
Andy Livingston Park lies on the southern border and offers a wide range of amenities including tennis courts, skateboard parks and soccer fields.
To the north and flanking the Burrard Inlet is Crab Park, which offers stunning views of the downtown core, Canada Place and the North Shore mountains. You’ll find locals and their furry friends enjoying the vast green space, beach and playground.

Unique ethnic foods to high-end fine dining are dotted throughout the community.
Both Gastown and Chinatown host a large variety of restaurant, shopping & entertainment options and most scale from budget to high end.
From small family operated restaurants to posh designer furniture stores, there’s a vast array of choices at your fingertips. Big box names like Nesters and London Drugs (at the base of the Woodwards building) will provide you with all your essentials. The community is now a home base for several digital firms which has added a new vibe to the area and has, in return, created a draw for new restaurants and retail.
