A great place to raise a family, Fraser boasts large parks and outdoor amenities along with local businesses like delis, tailors, barbers, and ethnic food stores in South Hill.

Ethnically rich and loaded with old school charm, Fraser is an Eastside neighbourhood that welcomes, celebrates and embraces ethnic diversity within its community.

Fraser is one of Vancouver’s fastest changing neighbourhood with plenty of  development going in along Fraser Street and Kingsway. Just East of Main, Fraser has access to the many wonderful amenities including trendy shops, cafés and grocery stores.

The community spoiled with large green spaces and parks that are packed with amenities.

The large parks of the neighbourhood are home base for many local sports teams and recreational leagues.

Memorial South Park, has been designed for sporting events and community gatherings. The nature pond and gravel pathways give residents a great way to take a leisurely walk.  The sports fields, outdoor rink and running track entertain all sorts of sporting events. The synthetic turf field hosts soccer, field hockey and lacrosse, and it’s well lit for evening games. 

Grays Park at East 33rd Avenue features two tennis courts, a wading pool, lawn bowling greens and a basketball court.

With such density comes diversity in school options.

Sir David Livingstone Elementary and Sir Charles Tupper Secondary are the main schools, with the well-respected Charles Dickens Elementary nearby.

The Elementary schools include Sir Alexander Elementary, McBride Annex (Elementary), Livingstone Elementary and Henderson Elementary which is just south of the community. Secondary schools include John Oliver Secondary School and Sir Charles Tupper Secondary. The private school plentiful and include institutions St. Andrews School, Khalsa School and Vancouver College.

The retail shops, eateries and services are strikingly diverse, charismatic and authentic and act as a community hub.

While Commercial Drive and Main Street have long been the established East Van retail “go to’s”, Fraser Street offers a myriad of small eclectic shops mixed in with grocery chains and pharmacies. The South Hill shopping district delivers a 9 block stretch of friendly convenience stores, local services and a myriad of ethnic food stores and restaurants.
